We know that adolescence is a ‘window of opportunity’ to help young people recover from traumatic childhoods and prepare them for a successful adulthood. Our youth services include case management, outreach, leaving care, life skills, mentoring, and accommodation.

Case Management
|
Intensive Case Management Services are designed to meet the needs of young people who fit the criteria of ‘high risk adolescents’. The young people are often are identified as displaying or experiencing risk taking or difficult to manage behaviours. The services provide case management, outreach, crisis support and intervention, consultation and specialist advice for professionals and family members plus linkages to other community services.

Disability
|
Physical and intellectual disabilities are common amongst the children, young people and families accessing our services. We run two very successful youth outreach programs for those young people who have both an intellectual disability and very challenging behaviours.

Leaving Care
|
As a major provider of Out of Home Care services across Victoria, Berry Street is a strong advocate for better support for young people when they leave the protection and care system. Without adequate support services, the outcomes for young people leaving care are relatively very poor.

Mentoring
|
Our mentoring programs give young people the opportunity to build positive relationships with caring and supportive volunteer mentors from the community. All our programs encourage young people to develop important life skills, increase their resilience, make connections with their community and set goals for the future.

Tune-In Youth Counselling Service
|
Our Tune-In Youth Counselling Service has been established for a two year period for young people aged 10-26 years affected by the 2009 bushfires, in the six local government areas of Murrindindi, La Trobe, Mitchell, Nillumbik, Whittlesea and Yarra Ranges.
