centres for young people disengaged from education
When children can’t live safely at home because of serious child abuse, neglect and family violence, Berry Street provides the appropriate level of care.
The Heritage & Information Service assists people who were former residents of Berry Street and Sutherland Homes, to access personal information about themselves held by Berry Street.
Residential care has often been seen as an option of "last resort" but we recognise that residential care is a valuable alternative for those young people who are unable to live safely at home or in foster care.
Through clinical services and counselling programs we work with the distressed child or young person, their family, carer and other services, to help them recover from their trauma.
